PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correct stereoscopic image by detecting a position of eyes of a viewer so as to move the stereoscopic video image display device thereby opposing it to the viewer in the direct viewing stereoscopic video image display device using a lenticular lens. SOLUTION: The stereoscopic image display device 1 is made up of an image display device 3 and a lenticular lens 5 mounted to its front face and a stereoscopic image displayed on the stereoscopic image display device 1 is observed directly by a viewer 7 as a stereoscopic image. A display device rotary frame 9 supports the stereoscopic image display device 1 and can be driven along a longitudinal shaft by a rotation drive section 10. A position detection camera 13 is fitted to an upper part of the display device rotary frame 9 to pick up the viewer 7 viewing a stereoscopic image and uses a reflection piece 15 adhered to a forehead of the viewer 7, for example, as an index to detect position of the eyes. A position detection circuit 17 receives a position signal of the reflection piece 15 from the position detection camera 13 to rotate the drive section 10 so that reflection piece 15 is opposed to the front side. |
