PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image chipping caused by the dividing deviation of the right and left pages of read page image data in accordance with deviation between a detected binding part position and an actual binding part position by forcibly overlapping and printing the read image on the binding part of an independent page to the binding part side of a transfer paper. SOLUTION: A main controller reads the read page image of a spread bookbinding original from a frame memory 104 for every page and forms the image on the transfer paper of page 1 in the case where an independent page mode is specified. A page housing sensor 214 recognizes the right and the left end positions of the bookbinding original, and calculates the center as the binding part of the bookbinding original. Consequently, when the bookbinding original is set, the deviation is caused between the actual binding part position and the calculated binding part position. The images are overlapped and printed with respect to the detected binding part position. The overlapped and copied image normally hides in the binding part in the case of bookbinding of copy, so that it is not conspicuous. |
