<p>PURPOSE:To decide the abnormal state of a touch panel device with simple constitution by measuring the electrostatic capacity on the side of the touch panel device while a coordinate input device is in use and comparing it with threshold values in a storage device. CONSTITUTION:When the touch panel device 1 is used normally, possible variation in the electrostatic capacity 20 on the side of the touch panel device 11 is used as reference variation to generate an upper and a lower limit value while a slightly margin is generated above and below the variation range, and those values are stared in a storage device 25. While the coordinate input device is in use, the electrostatic capacity on the side of the touch panel device 11 is measured and compared with the threshold values in the storage device 25; when the capacity varies exceeding the large or small threshold value, an arithmetic controller 2 judges that the coordinate input device is in an abnormal state.</p> |
