The front plate 2 of a look, such as a cylinder lock 5, is secured in a casing 1 by a piece of plastically deformable material. As shown, the look in part of a padlock having a hardened shackle. The front plate is also of hard material, is frusto-conical and during assembly is fitted into a correspondingly shaped recess in the casing, a cylindrical ring 8 of deformable material then being forced into the intervening apace. Further protection may be provided, by a number of hardened-steel pins 9 which are driven into the casing around the cylinder lock and have heads 9' which overlap the front plate. In other embodiments, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the end of the casing has a plastically defonmatole protrusion which is forced into an annular recess sloping inwardly and outwardly or having an enlarged bottom.</p> |
