Texturising or crimping apparatus for slivers, rovings or ribbons of synthetic filaments, of the type in which two feed rolls are driven and in addition are held against each other by a controlled pressure exerted by a piston-cylinder unit, and in which a compression chamber equipped with two plates is provided downsteam from these rolls, with the improvement whereby one roll and one corresponding plate, and intermediate elements as appropriate, form a rigid unit, such that if the distance between the roll axes increases, the volume of the chamber also increases automatically.
