PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new substance GT35, having antifungal, anticellular and immunosuppressive activities and useful as an antifungal, an anticellular and an immunosuppressant, etc., by culturing a microorganism, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce the GT35 in a culture medium. SOLUTION: This new substance GT35 is represented by the formula, has antifungal, anticellular and immunosuppressive activities and is useful as an antifungal, an anticellular and an immunosuppressive agent, etc. The new substance is obtained by inoculating a microorganism, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce the GT35 [e.g. Streptomyces sp. GT35 strain (FERM BP-5104)] into an Erlenmeyer flask containing a seed culture medium, carrying out the shaking culture at 30 deg.C and 200 r.p.m. for 72hr, providing a seed culture solution, transferring the resultant seed culture solution into a jar fermenter filled with a fermenting culture medium, then performing the spinner culture at 28 deg.C and 300 r.p.m. while aerating the culture medium, producing and accumulating the GT35 in the cultured product and collecting the resultant GT35 from the cultured product. |
