A discriminating and identifying device which is simple in its structure and permits no forgery in the cases when said devices are utilized for unmanned ticket examination apparatus, automatic slot machines and the like, said device comprising a member to be discriminated, an electric oscillating circuit provided in said member, a passage adapted to pass said member therethrough, and at least one detecting means which is provided in the vicinity of said passage and which cooperates with said oscillating circuit so as to produce an electric signal adapted to operate an assorting mechanism included in said apparatus or machine.
