PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of always removing the surface potential of a photoreceptor drum to be in an optimum state, and a control method for the device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an image carrying means 12 forming and carrying an electrostatic latent image corresponding to optical information, an electrifying means 13 electrifying the image carrying means 12, a charge removing means 19 removing the charge of the image carrying means 12, a detection means 100 detecting a 1st potential level in the image carrying means 12 in a 1st state (1st rotation) and a 2nd potential level in the image carrying means 12 in a 2nd state (2nd rotation), and control means 104 and 118 controlling to heighten or lower the removing efficiency of the charge removing means 19 based on the 1st and the 2nd potential levels detected. |
