<p>Catalyst contg. MgO, transition metal(s) and opt. carrier is produced by reacting aq. solns. of transition metal and Mg salts contg. S, esp. in form of sulphate, with aq. solns. of alkaline cpds. esp. alkali hydroxide and/or (bi)carbonate, filtering the ppte from the mother liquor, opt. washing with H2O then treating 1/2-6, esp. 3/4-4 h with dil. Mg(NO3)2 soln. above 20 degrees C esp. at 30-100 degrees C, opt. washing with H2O until conductivity of liquid is not >1000, esp. 200-700 mu S, drying or calcining, reducing and opt. stabilising. This provides a technically simple method of making active, S-free catalyst from raw materials contg. S, esp. solns. obtd. by acid or alkaline decompn. of inactive catalystS.</p> |
