1355387 Stabilization of phosphoric acid esters CIBA-GEIGY AG 10 Sept 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 42409/71 Heading A5E A pesticidal composition comprises: (A) 5 to 99.95% of a pesticidal, phosphoric ester whch is a di(C 1 -C 3 alkyl)dihalogenovinyl phosphate, a di(C 1 -C 3 alkyl)dihalogeno-1-methyl vinyl phosphate or a tetrahalogeno(C 2 - or C 3 - alkyl)di(C 1 - or C 2 -alkyl) phosphate, and (B) as stabilising agent, 0.05 to 10%, calculated on the weight of the phoshoric ester, of at least one sulphur compound containing 5 to 99%, preferably at least 10%, by weight of sulphur and containing at least one divalent sulphur atom which is either (i) bonded, by one valence, to a sulphur, carbon, nitrogen or hydrogen atom or a metal capable of salt formation and, by the other valency, to a hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen or metal atom or, provided the sulphur atom is not bonded to hydrogen, an oxygen atom or (ii) bonded via both valences to a carbon, nitrogen or metal atom. The composition may also contain (C) up to 90% of one or more solvents for the phosphoric ester, and up to 50% of one or more inert adjuvants chosen from mineral adjuvants and organic adjuvants compatible with the phosphoric ester. Many sulphur compounds belonging to the following classes are disclosed: Sulphanes, mercaptans, sulphides, disulphides, heterocyclic compounds, thioic compounds, thiomides, dithiocarbamic esters, thiocarbamic esters, thiurams, isothicyanic esters thioureas, thiuranes, sulphenamides, sulphenic esters, thioketones and salts of some of the above. Optional ingredients are odorants, pigments and complementary stabilizers such as epoxidized compounds and azoic compounds. |
