<p>An apparatus for handling rolls of wound material which comprises a frame on which a plurality of roll supporting heads are adjustably mounted. Each head is of the vacuum type and includes a probe that is engaged with the end of the roll and moved with respect to the head until the probe engages the opening in the center of the end of the roll whereupon the head is actuated to cause vacuum to be applied for lifting the roll.</p> |
