Division B8) but the claims are concerned with the transmission arrangement in which a pair of housings 41, 42 extend forwardly from the base frame of the trunk, each housing including a recessed plate 43 receiving an input shaft 45 supporting a pinion 50 for meshing with gears 51, 54, the latter carrying an output shaft supporting a further pinion 58 for meshing with an internal ring gear 59 on the associated wheel. A pair of electric motors drive respective input shafts 45 via a timing belt and pulley 46. Alternatively shaft 45 may be driven from a pulley 65 mounted at its outer end. Felly 60 of each wheel 11, 12 is rotatably mounted on hub 43a of plate member 43.</p> |
