<p>The circuit powering a hot cathode lamp using a self-oscillating static convertor ensures heating of the filaments before application of the full voltage. The frequency applied to the lamp (5) is changed, when the lamp starts, by a circuit including the secondary of a transformer (4) coil (6) and capacitor (9). The impedance of the lamp, which is infinite while it is not working, affects the discharge of the capacitor through the secondary circuit, and thus controls the frequency applied to the lamp.</p> |
