PURPOSE:To measure the variation in the extent and shape of deterioration of a concrete sample with time highly accurately. CONSTITUTION:A concrete sample 4 subjected to freeze, for example, is held on a base 1 so that the sample 4 can be positioned freely. An ultrasonic distance measuring apparatus 7 is then moved while keeping a predetermined distance from the concrete sample 4 and each surface of the concrete sample 4 is scanned by means of an ultrasonic wave emitted from the apparatus 7. The measurement of distance thus obtained is compared with a preset reference value and the extent of deterioration at each part of the concrete sample 4 is measured based on the comparison results. Finally the shape of deterioration on the surface of the concrete sample 4 is determined based on the extent of deterioration. |
