The arrangement for stabilising the radio-frequency phase of a transmitter of the conventional VOR type, which radiates a first signal which is formed from a radio-frequency carrier oscillation of angular frequency omega which is amplitude-modulated by a subcarrier of angular frequency OMEGA ' which, in turn, is frequency-modulated by a 30-Hz signal of angular frequency OMEGA , designated as reference signal, and radiates with a rotating cardioid pattern a second signal which radiates a sinusoidal signal of frequency 30-Hz, designated as variable signal, the audio-frequency envelope curve of the side bands of which, having the angular frequencies omega - OMEGA and omega + OMEGA , has a phase which is characteristic of the azimuth angle theta of the transmitter position, is characterised by the fact that the radio-frequency phase of the carrier oscillation and the radio-frequency phase of the phantom carrier of the two side bands having frequency lines omega - OMEGA and A + OMEGA are locked to one another. Application to an otherwise conventional VOR transmitter. <IMAGE>
