PURPOSE:To obtain color images of high quality which has neither irregularity in pitch and color unevenness by providing separately a driving source which operates an image carrier and a support body which supports and conveys a transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A gear 26 installed on the output shaft of a photosensitive drum driving motor 22 engages a gear 27 fitted onto the rotating shaft of a photosensitive drum in one body. A gear 30 installed on the output shaft of a transfer drum driving motor 28 is fitted integrally with a transfer drum 4 and engages a gear 31 rotatable around a support shaft. Then, a transfer paper support member is expanded in the opening part of the drum 4 to form a noncontacting interval between drums 1 and 4, and the load variation of the drum 4, etc., is not transmitted directly to the drum 1. Further, when the distance from an exposure position 7 to a transfer position 8 on the drum 1 is equal to the distance from a detection position for the transfer material P on the drum 4 to the transfer position 9, a detecting element 32 turns on and exposure is started. |
