In a rack storage installation, which comprises a multiplicity of frames installed one next to the other and connected to one another by means of horizontal connecting bars, every frame comprising at least two vertical struts, which are set on foundations, and bars arranged between the said struts, and the frames being connected by means of supports for the load material, the object is to be achieved of providing, with simple means, a construction which requires only two strip foundations for installing vertical struts, which construction can easily be assembled, quickly and with a relatively low labour outlay, from pre-assembled parts and is distinguished by considerable material savings, that is to say by a low material requirement. The invention achieves this object in that, in the individual frames, hanger bars are attached to transverse beams which are constructed in a framework design and borne by the vertical struts, which hanger bars are connected, by means of horizontal connecting bars, to one another and to the struts bearing the transverse beams and bear the supports for the load material, and in that the frames configured in this manner are connected to one another by means of further horizontal connecting bars.
