<p>A portable beach towel with a built-in hidden pouch (160) for storing valuables is disclosed. The towel comprises an elongated rectangular fabric portion (10) having a top surface (20) and a bottom surface (30), a top end edge (40) and a bottom end edge (50), and side edges (60). A pair of elastic loops (70) and a carrying strap (80) are sewn onto the bottom surface (30) near the bottom edge (50). A pocket (90) is formed by folding the top end edge (40) over the top surface (20), thereby defining an enclosure space (100) for holding a pillow (120). An access aperture (110) between the top end edge (40) and the top surface (20) opens into to the pouch (160), which is sewn into the pocket (90). The aperture (110) is closed with an aperture closure means (170), such as a zipper.
