PURPOSE:To make it possible to employ larger parts, in an outboard motor where an engine is installed with a crank shaft disposed vertically in an engine room, by disposing a carburetor on one side of the engine, and an oil filter and electrical equipment connected to an ignition plug respectively on the other side. CONSTITUTION:In an outboard motor 1, an engine 5 is installed in an engine room 4 within an engine cover 3 which covers the upper opening of a casing 2 and a crank shaft 11 is positioned vertically, and the rotation of the crank shaft 11 is transmitted to a propeller shaft through a driving shaft. In this case, a suction system consisting of an air intake pipe 29, a carburetor 30 and an intake pipe 31 is disposed in a fore/aft direction along the right side of an engine body to connect it to an intake port 25. Moreover, an oil filter 40 is provided, being protruded outward from a cylinder block 19, utilizing an air part formed in front of an exhaust passage 32 on the left side of the cylinder block 19, and an electrical equipment box 41 is disposed, adjacent to the oil filter 40. |
