PURPOSE:To obtain an Si-based ceramic sintered compact having a good mechanical property, especially a high tenacity value. CONSTITUTION:This sintered compact is composed of Si-based type ceramic granules as a matrix (1)-composing material and platy granules containing C and having a coating layer of metal or its oxide on its surface, and in a interface of the matrix 1 and the platy granules 2, a metallic silicate 3 is formed. |
