PURPOSE:To ensure the optimal combustion at all times and to reduce the pump drive loss, by controlling the delivery of a variable capacity fuel pump such that the fuel pressure corresponds to a target level, while coupling a fuel overflow path to an accumulator and arranging a solenoid valve. CONSTITUTION:A variable capacity fuel pump 36 and a fuel accumulator 38 are arranged between a fuel tank 34 and a fuel injection valve 32. Then the fuel accumulator 38 and a fuel tank 34 are coupled and a fuel overflow pipe 46 is provided, and a solenoid valve 48 is arranged in the way of said fuel overflow pipe 46. The fuel injection valve 32, the variable capacity fuel pump 36 and the solenoid 48 are controlled by a controller 50. Consequently, optimal combustion can be ensured and drive loss of pump can be reduced. |
