PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the disk array device which reconstitutes a data area of a storage device by finding optimum array parameters according to a disk access tendency without stopping a host system. SOLUTION: An access log storage means 6 is provided which forms data areas in stripe size unit, log storage areas for storing access logs, and work areas where the data areas are altered on respective storage devices 2(#1, #1, and #2) and saves the access logs in the log storage areas. Further, this device has an access log analyzing means 7 which analyzes the tendencies of access to the respective storage devices according to the access logs, a parameter deciding and altering means 8 which determines whether or not array parameters are adequate according to the analytic results and changes them into optimum array parameters, and a reconstituting means 9 which reconstitutes the said data areas according to the changed array parameters. |
