The invention relates to a method for producing propene oxide in which a mixture comprised of propene and oxygen or a gas containing oxygen is reacted optionally in the presence of a catalyst in a reactor at a temperature ranging from 150 to 500 DEG C, whereby the inner chamber of the reactor is completely or partially lined with inert materials. At least one of the materials of the following group is used as an inert material: one or more precious metals of the VIII subgroup of the periodic table, especially gold, titanium, tantalum, glass, enamel, quartz, ceramic or Teflon. The selectivity to propene oxide is > 60 %. |
