PACKET RELAY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce useless relayings of packets to a registration system port by not performing relaying to the registration system port when a packet is not recorded in a data base. SOLUTION: Whether or not data transmission destination terminal address of a packet is recorded in the terminal address of a data base is retrieved. In the case a data transmission destination terminal address is recorded in the data base, whether or not a port number recorded in a set with the terminal address and the port number of a reception port match is checked. When they do not match, the packet is delivered to a recording port. In the case the data transmission destination terminal address is not recorded in the data base, the packet is delivered to all the remaining ports when the ports other than the reception port and the registration system port are present. When the size of a frame to be relayed to the respective ports judged as suitable for relaying is on the outside of the allowable range of a data link layer protocol used in the respective ports, relaying to the port is not performed and abandoned.
