PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter for seedlings, capable of deeply planting seedlings into soil without being opposed to the advance of the machine body. SOLUTION: This seedling transplanter 5 is equipped with a driving force transmission mechanism from a motor 9, a planting tool 57 having a pair of holding hands 58 carrying out opening or closing action by the driving force transmission mechanism and an interlocking mechanism forming a noncircular turning locus X toward the front side in advancing direction of the transplanter and driving by the driving force transmission mechanism so as to open the hand 58 of the planting tool 57 holding seedlings when the hand 58 of the planting tool reaches the lowest end of the noncircular turning locus X and plant these seedlings into a field. As a result, since the planting tool 57 plants seedlings toward the front of the machine body, a sulky seedling planter capable of deeply planting seedlings into soil without making the turning locus X of the planting tool too long backward and forward and making the operation of workers ready regardless of the kinds and size of seedlings can be provided.
