PURPOSE:To obtain an anion exchange resin comprising aromatic crosslinked copolymers as the base body which causes little irreversible adsorption of org. matter and is hardly contaminated with org. matter, by specifying the density of functional groups on the resin surface to <=1/2 of the density of functional groups in the whole resin. CONSTITUTION:The anion exchange resin consists of aromatic crosslinked copolymers as the base body. The density of functional groups on the resin surface is specified to <=1/2 of the density of functional groups in the whole resin. Thereby, hydrophobicity is imparted to the surface of the anion exchange resin. In the obtd. anion exchange resin having surface hydrophobicity, diffusion of polymer org. material in a solvation state with lots of water molecules into the inside of resin particles can be prevented. Thus, the obtd. resin has a small adsorption amt. of high mol.wt. org. material and shows good desorption thereof. This means that the amt. of org. material irreversibly desorbed is small and the contamination degree with org. matter of the resin is low. |
