PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an objective substance from a gaseous raw material using a microorganism at a practically sufficient production speed. SOLUTION: This method for the microbial production of a substance comprises the production of the objective substance from a gaseous raw material by using a microorganism supported together with a culture liquid on a carrier having water-absorbing property.
