PURPOSE:To obtain an ink ribbon or sheet enabling execution of overstriking which brings about little change in print density and deformed or damaged little when printing is repeated and which is excellent in high resolution and a high-density printing property. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon or sheet enabling execution of over-striking which is prepared by providing a matrix type ink-added coated layer on a biaxially oriented polyester film and of which the biaxially oriented polyester film has a thickness of 5 to 50 p[fl and an index of double refraction meeting the following formulas (l) to (3): -1.0X10<-2=DELTAX<=5.0X10<-2>... (1), 0.160<=DELTAY<=0.200... (2) and -0.210 <=DELTAZ <=-0.110... (3) (where DELTAX=gamma-beta, DELTAY=gamma-alpha, DELTAZ-alpha-beta and Y denotes an index of refraction in the longitudinal direction, beta the index of refraction in the lateral direction and alpha the index of refraction in the direction of the thickness). |
