PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wavelength conversion laser apparatus facilitating identification of the factors when an optical element such as a wavelength conversion element is damaged and when a coating applied to the optical element is deteriorated. SOLUTION: A light shielding plate 8 inserted between a solid laser medium 2 and a first wavelength conversion element 4, and a light shielding plate 9 inserted between the first and a second wavelength conversion elements 4 and 5 are irradiated with reflected beams from incident surfaces 4a and 5a of the wavelength conversion elements 4 and 5, respectively, and since the wavelength conversion elements 4 and 5 are held at respective angles, regulated positions on the light shielding plates 8 and 9 are irradiated with the reflected beams of an incident laser beam. Apertures 8b and 9b through which fine quantities of the reflected beams pass, respectively, are provided in the positions irradiated with the reflected beams on the light shielding plates 8 and 9, respectively, and the beams passing through the apertures are converted into electric signals by beam detecting elements 21 and 22, respectively.
