PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fin material for brazing which is superior in strength, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance after having been heated for brazing, has low strength and consequent superior corrugate formability before being heated for brazing, and further is superior in diffusion resistance against a brazing filler while being heated for brazing, and to provide a method for stably manufacturing the fin material. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy for the fin material for brazing comprises more than 1.4 mass% but 1.8 mass% or less Fe, more than 0.8 mass% but 1.0 mass% or less Si, and 0.6 mass% to 0.9 mass% Mn. The method for manufacturing the fin material comprises: final-intermediate-annealing a sheet with a thickness of 0.1 mm or thinner made from the aluminum alloy so as to give it a crystalline structure in which recrystallized grains having a diameter of 10 mm or larger in a rolling direction occupy 80% or more of the surface area when viewed from the surface; and then cold-rolling it with a sheet-thickness rolling reduction of less than 30%. The fin material is manufactured with the manufacturing method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
