PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord guide device of a sewing machine, which enables ordinary sewing operations, when a cord is not sewed, and enables the fixation of a bracket to a base in a simple operation and the accurate positioning and holding of a loop holder or cord holder to a sewing place, when the cord is sewed. SOLUTION: This cord guide device of the sewing machine used for loop sewing or cord sewing is characterized by attaching the base 22 to a sewing machine frame 1, supporting a bracket 29 having a loop holder or cord holder 72 disposed thereon on the base 22 in a state capable of being rotated to a using position adjacent to needle bars 2 or to a non-use position apart from the needle bars, on a vertical shaft 27, and disposing a means for holding the bracket 29 at the non-use position and a means for holding the bracket 29 at the using position, wherein the means for holding the bracket 29 at the using position is a means for forcibly fitting and stopping the fitting hole 112 of a plate spring 102 attached to the bracket 29 into a projection 103 disposed on the base 22.
