PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for imparting flame protecting effects to paper and fibers, especially a flame proofing method for making paper and fibers hardly burnable which paper and fibers are safely usable in living spaces. SOLUTION: The method comprises making support (A) bittern (water containing salinity) and (B) one or more boric compounds selected from boric acid, sodium borate and potassium borate.
