PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission belt such as a V-ribbed belt and a low edge V belt capable of reducing deviated motion on one side caused when a rear surface of the belt is abutted on and engaged with an idler pulley and preventing occurrence of abnormal sound. SOLUTION: This power transmission belt 1 is constituted by burying a core wire 2 into a bonded rubber layer 3 along the longitudinal direction of the belt, arranging a compressed rubber layer 4 adjacent to the bonded rubber layer 3, and laminating at least the rear surface 6 of the belt by a sail cloth 5. A connection line 13 for connecting each crossing point 12 of a weft 10 and a warp 11 of the sail cloth 5 is inclined for an axial line 15 in the longitudinal direction of the belt, and the direction of the inclination of the connection line 13 is the same direction as the direction of final twisting of the core wire 2.
