PURPOSE: To efficiently record a bar code by forming at least part of the bar code of a set of pits as to the optical recording medium which has a pit recording part where information is recorded by arranging optically readable fine pits and a bar code recording part where information is recorded by arranging bars larger than the pits. CONSTITUTION: The bar code is formed at the bar code recording part 40, shown in the figure by an alternate long and short dash line. This bar code is composed of bars formed of a track guide 1 and a successive pit array. Namely, and area A is a blank are where no bar is present, and an area B is an area corresponding to one bar. Although the bar is a pattern which occupies larger area than a pit in terms of size, is can be formed by arranging plural pits. Consequently, any information which should be recorded on one medium can be recorded by writing pits, and efficient writing can be done by using a single pit writing system. |
