TRANSMISSION METHOD BY OPTICAL MULTIPLEXING PROVIDED WITH AMPLIFICATION FUNCTION AND OPTICAL LINK

PURPOSE: To form an optical link which can maintain the flatness of an amplifier gain in a state where the number of occupied channels in spectrum multiplexing communication to be amplified varies. CONSTITUTION: In a spectrum multiplexing link in which an amplifier fiber 10 amplifies a plurality of multiplexed carries, the flat spectral distribution of the gain of the link is maintained when the number of the carriers varies. In order to maintain the flat spectral distribution, the output of an amplified light from the amplifier is controlled. The light is a reverse amplified spontaneous emission. The light controls the currents supplied to two laser diodes 12 and 14 which realize the pumping of the fiber 10 after the light is filtered through a filter 24 and detected in a photodiode 18.
