LCD WITH COT ARRAY AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING OF THE SAME

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) with a color filter on TFT(Thin Film Transistor) and a method for fabricating the same are provided to reduce a process cost and a process time by a black column spacer that blocks a light and maintains a gap between two substrates at the same time. A gate line(104) is formed in one direction on one surface of a first substrate. A data line(116) intersects the gate line to define pixel regions. A thin film transistor(T) is formed at an intersection between the gate line and the data line respectively. Color filters(122a,122b,122c) are formed in the pixel regions. A pixel electrode(130) is disposed over the color filters and contacts the thin film transistor. A black column spacer(150) is disposed over the thin film transistor and includes a ball spacer therein. A common electrode is formed on one surface of a second substrate.
