PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which has a very large deodorization effect retained for a long time. SOLUTION: A second inlet port 27 into which a suction wind flows and a deodorant storage part 33 which stores a deodorant 34 and discharges the deodorant 34, at or near the second inlet port 27 are provided at a dust collecting box 9 which is attachably and detachably mounted in a dust collecting chamber. At least a part of the deodorant storage part 33 is formed by a transparent or translucent material. At least a part of a front cover 26 is formed of a transparent or translucent material so as to overlap the deodorant storage part. Dust deposits within the dust collecting box 9 with being efficiently mixed with the deodorant 34 by the discharge of the deodorant 34 near the second inlet port 27 from the deodorant storage part 33 at the time of operation. Since the contact area of the dust and the deodorant 34 is very large and the deodorant 34 remains until the dust is discarded, the deodorization effect is very large and can be retained for a long time. Also, since the consumption condition of the deodorant is grasped at a glance through the transparent or translucent part, a deodorant effectiveness time can be easily grasped.
