PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feature point detection device and a program for extracting a feature point from a face image including noise components or from an unclear face image and searching for a feature point from a partial area selected from the face image. SOLUTION: A CPU 24 removes a pixel line having a dimension smaller than a predetermined dimension Ln among pixel lines included in a face image, which is acquired by a camera 10 as a target of feature point extraction, as a noise component.
