PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for stabilizing sediment.SOLUTION: In a method for stabilizing sediment, the sediment contains sand and gravel substances. The method includes a process to supply solidification slurry from a top section of a slope of the sediment. The solidification slurry diffuses from the top section of the slope to a bottom section thereof by gravity. The slope of the sediment is stabilized by a solidification effect of the solidification slurry. The solidification slurry has an average infiltration speed of not less than 0.13 centimeters per second.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
