Disclosed are an antenna system and a beam control method thereof, which can accurately control the beam direction. The antenna system comprises: a focusing device, having an electromagnetic wave focusing function; an array feed, comprising multiple antenna subarrays, each antenna subarray comprising two or more radiating elements, and each radiating element being capable of radiating electromagnetic waves to the focusing device; a subarray switching matrix, used for performing switching to select at least one antenna subarray in the multiple antenna subarrays; a subarray amplitude weighting and power division network, used for performing amplitude weighting on radiating elements in the selected antenna subarray; and a beam control channel, used for sending subarray switching configuration information so that the subarray switching matrix performs switching to select at least one antenna subarray according to the subarray switching configuration information. The beam control channel is further used for sending amplitude weighting configuration information of the radiating elements of the selected antenna subarray, so that the subarray amplitude weighting and power division network performs amplitude weighting on the radiating elements in the selected antenna subarray according to the amplitude weighting configuration information. |
