This solid electrolytic capacitor comprises a capacitor element having a positive pole body that is a hexahedral porous sintered body, a positive pole lead, a dielectric layer formed over the positive pole body, and a solid electrolyte layer formed over the dielectric layer. One extremity of the positive pole lead is embedded from a surface A of the positive pole body into the interior of the positive pole body. The positive pole body has a surface B and a surface C opposing each other while each shares one edge with the surface A. The positive pole body has a first region including the surface B, a second region including the surface C, and a third region intercalated between the first region and the second region. The third region is lower in density than the first region and the second region. The average thickness T3 of the third region in a direction Y, which is oriented from the surface B to the surface C, and the width TL of the positive pole lead in the direction Y satisfy the relationship: T3 < TL. The surface of the positive pole lead is in contact with at least one among the first region and the second region. |
