An image processing device (1000) and image processing method. The image processing device (1000) comprises: an image receiving module (1100) configured to receive an image to be processed; a face region recognition module (1200) configured to recognize a face region in the received image; a skin whitening module (1300) configured to process, according to brightness of the entire image and brightness of the face region, a pixel in the face region to whiten the pixel in the face region; a face skin smoothing module (1400) configured to calculate face roughness of a face skin region in the face region and filter the face skin region according to the face roughness; and an image output module (1500) configured to output the processed image. When a user would like to enhance aesthetics of the face skin in a photo, the present invention adaptively whitens the face skin according to the brightness of the face skin in the photo and the brightness of the entire photo, and adaptively smooths the face skin according to the roughness of the face skin. |
