The present invention relates to a high-speed counter. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the high-speed counter includes: an input/output unit receiving a pulse signal from an external module; an insulation unit for insulating the pulse signal from an external signal; and a calculation unit which executes a count computation operation based on the pulse signal in accordance with a preset value and a preset count mode to generate a count value. The computation unit notifies the PLC unit of the transmission preparation completion of the count value in accordance with a data processing unit of a programmable logic controller (PLC) unit and transmits the count value to the PLC unit through the input/output unit in accordance with the data processing unit of the PLC unit. The present invention improves the structure of a conventional high-speed counter to enable a fast count computation process using high-speed pulse signals input at a high-frequency. |
