PURPOSE:To facilitate control, efficiently perform image forming process by an easy control without reducing the productivity of an image forming material, minimize the approaching and separating operation of a transfer belt, prevent toner scattering, and enhance reliability. CONSTITUTION:Two long and short intervals are set for transfer process, and when the interval of transfer process is long, a transfer belt device is separated from a photoreceptor 11 to form a standard density pattern on the photoreceptor 11. The density of this standard density pattern is detected by a density detecting means 17. When the interval of transfer process is short, the formation of the standard density pattern is not carried out. |
