A plate-type heat exchanger comprises a plurality of plates supported in spaced parallel relationship by first and second elongated locating members, such that one of said locating members, namely the first, 18, Fig. 2, or the second, 25, Fig. 3 (not shown), prevents movement of the plates in a direction towards the second locating member, 19 or 25, and each of said locating members prevents movement of each plate transversely to said direction and in the plane of the plate, but any individual plate may be removed by displacing it in its own original plane towards the first locating member, 18 or 24, until it is freed from the second locating member and turning the plate about the first locating member. In Fig. 2a (not shown), the member 18 is replaced by an I-section beam 18a. In Fig. 4 (not shown) tongues 23 are provided on each plate and engage with channel section elongated locating members. |
