Protection of a metal section, esp. an aluminium section, against fire, comprises a frame construction for a surface layer of e.g. window glass. The frame is in the form of beam elements with an effectively sealed channel cross-section filled with a solid or volatile fire protection agent. This fire protection agent evaporates as a result of absorbing the heat from the fire and then heat is removed by expansion and flow of the vapour away from the frame construction. |
