A switch is depressed to open an entry valve coupled firstly to a pressurised water supply and otherwise to the hose and meters so that once all milk has been driven out into the churn etc., a reverser valve at the hose outlet is operated by the incoming cleansing water. This valve directs the water to an outlet, and then after further water has been passed through and depending on the cleanness, the entry valve is closed, leaving the reverser valve at the outlet open until the fresh milk entering the hose line drives the residual water out. - The operator has merely to operate the valve and initiate the cleansing process. Valve control either by cleansing fluid composition, flow time or flow volume.
