1,179,183. Resilient elements. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 14 April, 1967 [20 April, 1966], No. 17273/67. Heading F2S. [Also in Division H2] One part of a separable connector consists of a contact carrying sleeve 1 having a collar 5 against which a resilient washer assembly 6, 7, 6 is pressed when engaged by an internal flange 9 of coupling sleeve 8 which is held against the washers by the body 11 which is screwed on to the threaded surface 3 of the sleeve. The sleeve 8 may have internally projecting pins which provide bayonet engagement with the complementary member of the connector, the washer assembly 6, 7, 6 providing the spring force to maintain the engagement. The washer assembly may consist of one or more flat stiff metal washers 6 and a resilient washer 7 (e.g. of rubber or plastics material) which may be glued or vulcanized to one metal washer or between two metal washers (Figs. 2a, 2b, not shown). The washers may be circular or rectangular (Figs. 3a, 3b, not shown) and the resilient washer may have its inner and outer edges overlapped by the metal washer(s). The body of the coupling may be circular or rectangular in cross-section. |
