1,148,202. Electric storage heaters. BAUKNECHTE GEA ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 5 Sept., 1966 [17 Sept., 1965], No. 39569/66. Heading F4U. During the charging period, the core of a storage heater is heated at intervals to its final temperature. As shown, the core 3 is heated by heating elements 4 connected in a circuit having a main switch 5 and an auxiliary, thermallyoperated switch 8. A heating element 9 is provided adjacent switch 8, which is located in the core insulation 2, and switch 5 is controlled by a senser 10 located adjacent the casing 1. During charging, switch 5 is closed and switch 8 periodically opens and closes to energize and de-energize heaters 4 and 9. Switch 5 opens to terminate charging when the temperature in the vicinity of senser 10 reaches a predetermined value. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) senser 10 is also located in the insulation 2 and in a further modification (Fig. 3, not shown) switch 8 is omitted and the main switch 5 is periodically opened and closed. |
