The control movement for a motor vehicle friction clutch having a driven plate 26 normally clamped between a back-plate 25 and presser plate 31 by a diaphragm spring 32, is transmitted through the gear-box from a control 46 mounted externally to the gear-box, by a rod 40 axially slidable in the gear-box input shaft 14 and engaging a plate 35a fast with the diaphragm spring. Movement of a piston 46 produced by a master cylinder 51 is transmitted through a thrust bearing 45 and plate 44 to the rod 40 for clutch disengagement. During disengagement spring strips between a driving flywheel 23 and the presser plate 31 move the latter out of engagement with the driven plate 26. |
